SAMBA: A joint task team composed of the Geology and Mining department, headed by DMO Samba, M. Sayeed, and the Samba Police, led by SDPO Bari Brahamana, Rahul Nagar KPS, and SHO Insp Sumit, carried out a late-night raid in the Birpur region to tackle illicit mining activities. Two dumpers engaged in illicit mining were quickly arrested during the operation and impounded on the grounds of the Bari Brahamana Police Station. The teams’ mobilisation was very effective, and it led to the capture of the criminals responsible for this illegal conduct. The severity of the offences was increased since, according to preliminary investigations, these local offenders were providing supplies to a highway firm illegally. The amount of the harm brought on by these illegal mining operations will be carefully evaluated, and those responsible for this flagrant disregard of mining regulations will face harsh punishment.
