Jammu/Srinagar, Feb 10: As part of its campaign against those allegedly responsible for funding terrorism and radicalising youth, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out several raids across Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, according to officials. They said that the raids were taking place in a number of locations, including Jammu city’s Shaheedi Chowk and Gujjar Nagar. The officials added that the NIA detectives raided a private school and locations connected to three of its employees, including the chairman’s home.According to the officials, two former leaders of the outlawed group Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir had their homes checked in the Kulgam area. They said that Sayar Ahmad Reshi, another leader of the Jamaat, and previous chairman Sheikh Ghulam Hassan’s homes were the targets of the raids. The Centre issued a five-year ban on Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019.
