JAMMU: In the wake of upcoming Legislative Assembly elections, the NCB has geared up its preparation to tackle the drug menace and its possible misuse in the election scenario.
Being the national nodal agency for drug law enforcement, it has geared itself to stop the supply of drugs in the region.
In the latest move, the NCB Zonal Unit of Jammu has started conducting regular searches at various public places like Bus Stands, Railway Stations and National and State Highways with its Nar-K9 (Canine) squad.
A team of NCB Jammu Zonal Unit conducted search operation alongwith Nar-K9 dog squad. In upcoming days local police and other agencies like RPF, SSB, BSF etc. shall also be sensitized and included in these search operations.
The Nar-K9 dog squad of NCB is trained to detect narcotics concealed in luggage or in cavities of vehicles.
