Srinagar, Oct 11: Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, stated on Wednesday that when youngsters choose the road of “peace, prosperity, and discipline,” the country will advance and prosper on its own. President Murmu stated that the country would grow more when more and more young would pursue Aman and Chayen (peace and prosperity) in his speech at Kashmir University’s 40th convocation. She roared from the stage of the KU Convocation Hall, “When youth will follow discipline, nation will progress.”“Ye Che Mouj Kashmir” was the opening line of President Murmu’s address, which was greeted with a thunderous round of applause. I’m happy to be here. I’ve attended a lot of graduations and attended many colleges and universities across the nation, but let me tell the young people that this campus is more lovely than others. The blessings of Hazratbal have been bestowed upon Kashmir University in the past and will continue to do so, she stated.She expressed her happiness to meet Kifayatullah, a local youngster, at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi for his participation in the Republic Day parade in 2023 and for his charitable work. The President stated, “I would like to see Kashmir University students participating in social services as well as higher education so that there is a shift in the society. She stated, “I am delighted to see 55% of the top scorers were girls. There were 462 kids, and 21 of them received gold medals. In every sphere, our women and girls are demonstrating their abilities. Our tasveer and taqdeer are today’s honorees, she said.She used the Kashmiri adage “Ann poshe teli yele wan poshe” to emphasise the importance of preserving the environment and the natural gifts given to Kashmir. It is our duty to preserve the environment, and young people must play a part in this. I’ve learned that a number of studies are being conducted on numerous fronts, and Kashmir University is doing everything it can to conserve the Hiamalyan glaciers,” she stated.The National Education Policy was fully implemented by J&K, and the president commended them for setting an example for other States and UTs. She wished everyone who received an award a prosperous future. President Murmu had already arrived in Kashmir. She was greeted by LG Manoj Sinha there and given a guard of honour. She hurried from the airport to the 15 Corps headquarters of the army in Srinagar to pay respects to the fallen troops at the war memorial. After spending the night in Srinagar, she will meet with women’s self-help groups and local tribal communities the next day.The president will also go to a civic event held at the Raj Bhavan Srinagar in her honour. The president will travel to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, Jammu, on Thursday morning to dedicate a renovated Parvati Bhavan and Sky Walk. Top police and government officials attended the KU Covocation, including DGP Dilbagh Singh, ADGP Vijay Kumar, Special DG (CID)RR Swain, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Bhalwal, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bhiduri, DC Srinagar Aijaz Asad, Mayor SMC Junaid Matoo, and Waqf Board chairperson Darakshan Andrabi.
