New Delhi, Sep 6: The Nataraja monument placed at Bharat Mandapam, the convention facility hosting the G20 summit meetings, will serve as a testament to India’s age-old artistry and traditions, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s statement on Wednesday. He was commenting on a post published by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts on X on a statue that was allegedly made of Ashtadhatu. The renowned sculptor Radhakrishnan Sthapaty of Swami Malai in Tamil Nadu and his crew created the 27-foot-tall, 18-ton monument in a record 7 months. It is the highest statue constructed of Ashtadhatu. Since the time of the Chola Empire, Radhakrishnan has produced idols through 34 generations.
