JAMMU, Jan 2: An earphone, an adapter, and a cell phone without a SIM card were taken from the high security central jail grounds at Kot Bhalwal in Jammu on Tuesday, according to a police official. According to the official, a polythene bag that was discovered inside the prison complex in an open area was the source of the seizure. The polythene bag was discovered by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) guards at the prison housing foreign and domestic terrorists, he said, and they notified the relevant police station. The phone and its accessories were found after a police team responded quickly to the scene and examined the polythene bag, according to the official.He said that the mobile phone has been turned over to forensic specialists for a thorough examination and that the police have filed a case and are conducting additional investigation. The official said that it was not immediately clear if the polythene bag was thrown from outside the jail or left behind by someone inside.
