Srinagar: According to officials on Tuesday, mobile internet has been turned down in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district due to security concerns. Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir Zone, gave orders to the telecom service providers to stop providing mobile data services in the Wampora and Hunipora parts of the south Kashmir district, according to the officials. The officials noted that the ADGP’S directive raises the potential for anti-national elements to abuse mobile data services, which could lead to a decline in public order. According to the government, telecom service providers were ordered to stop providing mobile data within a three-kilometer radius of certain sites from November 5 to November 8.
