UDHAMPUR: Under the direction of SSP National Highway Rohit Baskotra, Traffic Police National Highway registered, confiscated, and detained a minibus for overloading and endangering human lives as part of its ongoing campaign against overloading in passenger vehicles. “A team of traffic police from Traffic sub division Udhampur led by ASI Mushtaq Ahmed while routine checking at Patnitop Road intercepted a minibus bearing registration number JK21D-4329 while it was on its way from Udhampur to Chenani,” a spokesperson for the Traffic Police National Highway said. He claimed that as the minibus was being checked, 52 people were discovered seated inside, compared to its 24 allotted seats. As a result, a case FIR 12/2024 US 279/336 IPC was filed at Police Station Chenani for overloading and endangering human life. The official further stated that Manipal Singh, the son of Baldev Singh, was arrested and the vehicle was immediately impounded.
