NOV 04, 2023 : A powerful earthquake that started at midnight on Friday in the Jajarkot district of the country claimed the lives of at least 128 people. In the Western Nepalese districts of Jajarkot and Rukum, 80 people lost their lives and over 140 were injured, as reported by state-run Nepal Television. The epicentre of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake was located at Lamidanda in the Jajarkot district. The earthquake that struck at 11:47 p.m. on Friday affected Kathmandu and the neighbouring areas, as well as New Delhi in the neighbouring country of India. Pushpakamal Dahal, also known as “Prachanda,” the prime minister, and a medical team made their way to the scene on Saturday morning. According to officials, members of the Nepal Army and Nepal Police have been called up to assist with rescue operations.
