SRINAGAR: Meteorological Centre Srinagar Monday issued a fresh weather advisory, in which it predicted occurrence of flashfloods, cloudbursts, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over vulnerable parts of J&K, besides heavy rainfall at few places during next three-days.
A MeT in a communication predicted intense showers for a brief period with possibility of flashfloods, cloudbursts, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones over vulnerable places of Jammu & Kashmir. It also predicted heavy rainfall at few places of the region during next three-days.
From August 5th to 7th there is a possibility o brief spells of rain & thundershower at few places during daytime with spells of light to moderate rain & thundershower at many places of J&K towards night/early morning, the communication said.
It also said that from August 8th to 10th, scattered places of Kashmir division likely to receive brief showers during daytime with a spell of rain & thundershower, while many places of Jammu division to receive the same mainly during late night/early morning.
From August 11th to 13th there is a possibility of a brief spell of rain & thundershower at scattered places of Kashmir division and fairly widespread places of Jammu division, it added.
MeT also added that a spell of rain & thundershower over parts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Gulmarg, hilly areas of Budgam, Tral, Pahalgam, Shopian, and Kulgam districts during next 2-3 hour.
Intense showers may generate flashfloods over hilly areas of Baramulla, Kupwara and Budgam districts, it added.
