SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department on Monday predicted dry weather conditions in Jammu & Kashmir, with intermittent spell of rain at isolated parts of Jammu & Kashmir till September 13. The officials however held the possibility of heavy rain during September 2 & 3 at isolated places with flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable places. “From September 2 to 3, there will be generally cloudy weather conditions with light to moderate rain/thundershower at most places,” a MeT official said. He said from September 4 to 5 the weather conditions likely to remain dry. From September 6 to 7 there is a possibility of brief spell of rain at isolated to scattered places, he said. He added during September 8 to 13 the weather conditions will generally remain dry with brief showers at isolated places. The official said there is a possibility of heavy rain during September 2 and 3 at isolated places with flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over few vulnerable places. He said in the meanwhile the water level in local nallahs and flood channels may raise, and water logging in few low lying areas may occur. There is a possibility of light snowfall over few higher reaches. Trekkers and tourists are advised to plan their journey accordingly, he added.
