Manish Sisodia’s bail is denied by the HC in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam

NEW DELHI : On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court dismissed the bail plea of former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the excise policy scam being probed by the CBI. Given the seriousness of the charges against the AAP leader, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma rejected his motion for relief. The AAP leader was detained on February 26. In deciding on the bail request, the high court noted that because Sisodia is a powerful figure, it is possible that witnesses could be swayed if he is granted bail. After numerous rounds of interrogation, the CBI has detained Sisodia for alleged wrongdoing in the creation and execution of the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22.The criminal conspiracy including the alleged payment of advance payments of Rs 90-100 crore meant for him and his colleagues in the Delhi government, according to him, involved Sisodia, who was “prima facie the architect” of the “scam” and had played the “most important and vital role.” He has contested the trial court’s March 31 ruling that rejected Sisodia’s bail request in the case.. Additionally, he is being held in a connected money laundering investigation.
