Man Held With Fake Currency Worth ₹86,000 In Pampore

Srinagar, Dec 26: Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Pampore in South Kashmir Pulwama district and recovered Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth ₹86,000 from his possession, officials said on Friday.
A senior police officer confirmed that the accused has been identified as Akeel Majeed a resident of Kadalbal, Pampore. He was arrested by Pampore police.
During a search, police recovered 172 fake currency notes of ₹500 denomination, amounting to ₹86,000, the officer added.
A case under Section 180 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Pampore, and further investigation is underway, the officer said.
