JAMMU, July 26: A 37-year-old biker died after his throat was slashed by the banned nylon thread, also known as “Chinese Manja”, on the Jammu-Akhnoor flyover at Canal area here today.The incident happened around 6:15 PM today when the Chinese string got entangled around the neck of Sahil Kumar (37) son of Rajinder Prasad of Domana on the flyover at Canal area, slitting his throat, and leaving him in a pool of blood, a police official said.
According to him, Sahil was heading towards Bus Stand area along with his wife when the incident happened.
He said the injured man was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The police have shifted the body of the deceased individual to the mortuary of the Government Medical College Jammu for conducting the post-mortem examination and started further investigation into the matter.
Pertinently, the sale and use of the Chinese thread, also known as “Gattu” or “Manja” is banned by the District Magistrate Jammu under Section 144 of the JK CrPC.
