JAMMU: According to police, a guy was charged under the draconian Public Safety Act for allegedly engaging in illegal activities that threatened law and order in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to a police spokeswoman, Mohammad Azam, a resident of Pukharni in the Nowshera subdivision, was taken into custody by police and was promptly put in the Rajouri district jail. He claimed that the Rajouri DM had ordered Azam’s detention after receiving a thorough report from the district police office. The spokesman stated that between 2013 and 2021, the accused was the subject of several criminal cases filed at the Nowshera police station. He further stated that even after being included in several First Information Reports, the accused continued to engage in “unlawful acts” and to be a threat to peace and order.
