RAJOURI: In a significant breakthrough, two suspected narcotic smugglers were detained in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, with over two kilograms of heroin valued at over Rs 10 crore in the international market, officials announced on Sunday. The apprehended individuals, Sajad Hussain from Thandi Kasi village and Fateh Mohd from Chitti Bakri, were caught with the contraband in Parran village of the Chingus sector by a combined task force of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday evening. According to sources, both individuals hail from border areas with prior experience working as porters for the security forces. Their intricate knowledge of the region’s topography had placed them under suspicion by security agencies, leading to their eventual surveillance and arrest. The authorities underline the significance of this operation as it brings two offenders with potentially high involvement in the narcotics trade to justice, highlighting the relentless efforts in combating drug trafficking in the region.
