UTTARKASHI :According to an ONGC official, a Magna Rod cutter machine has been used to expedite the rescue effort for 41 workers who have been stuck in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12. According to officials, the development happened after a plasma cutter machine was flown in from Hyderabad to cut the auger machine that became lodged in the Silkyara tunnel debris. They claimed that the machine was transported by a private company’s charter flight from Rajahmundry Airport in Andhra Pradesh to Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun at two in the morning on Saturday. According to them, the rescue crew working on the operation is deploying every kind of equipment to handle any emergency close to the Silkyara Tunnel. Early in the morning, the plasma cutter machine was delivered to the Silkyara tunnel. Even before the new machine arrived at the site, the auger machine was being removed.
