SRINAGAR: Meteorological Department Srinagar on Sunday said that light to moderate rains with snow at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir will continue till April 19. It said in past 24-hours most places of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed light to moderate rains with light snow over few higher reaches. From April 14 to 15 there is a forecast of generally cloudy with light to moderate rains, snow (at higher reaches) at most places with possibility of heavy rains, thunderstorm, lightening and gusty winds at isolated places, the officials said. They said from April 16 to 17 the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy with light rains, snow (at higher reaches) at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir. “From April 18 to 19, there is a forecast of generally cloudy with light rains, snow (at higher reaches) at many places with thunder & lightening. Also on April 20 to 24 the weather is expected generally dry with A/N thundershower activity can’t be ruled out,” officials said. Keeping the prevalent weather conditions into account, the officials advised farmers to suspend farm operations till April 16. They said due to inclement weather conditions surface transportation may likely be disrupted over few higher reaches during April 14 and 15. “Travelers and tourists are advised to plan their travel accordingly. Also temporary water logging may take place in few low lying areas. Also there is a possibility of landslides, mudslides and shooting stones,” the officials maintained.
