SRINAGAR: Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the much anticipated Vistadome train services in Kashmir. Through video conference, the chief ministers of Assam and Tripura as well as the union minister attended the event. Later, the first Vistadome coach train from Srinagar Station to Banihal was flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor. Speaking at the event, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that Jammu and Kashmir has seen significant change over the previous nine years, which was visible on the ground. Following the repeal of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir’s development is happening quickly.G20 sessions were recently conducted in Utah. According to him, there have been several development projects in the field of railways in Jammu and Kashmir. The Anji Bridge, Chenab Bridge, and most of the tunnels have all undergone completion, with the exception of a small section. The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the people of the UT of J&K on this historic occasion during his speech. “We appreciate that the Kashmir Valley now has Vistadome rail services, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji. The Lt Governor stated, “Vistadome is a symbol that facilities available in developed countries are now accessible to people of J&K.”Additionally, he thanked Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, for improving people’s and tourists’ travel experiences. According to the lieutenant governor, the Vistadome services would significantly affect tourism and support the region’s economic development and cultural enrichment. Railways has made a significant advancement in the Union Territory’s growth. He continued, saying that the state-of-the-art Vistadome will draw a lot of tourists and provide more opportunities for generating income for residents in cities, towns, and villages connected to all nearby train stations. The Lieutenant Governor also spoke about Jammu Kashmir’s recent transformative journey during the launch event. He claimed that there has been a noticeable increase in tourists recently and that the new Vistadome coach will further spur local development. With its broad windows, rotating seats, and glass roof, the specially built Vistadome coach gives passengers an expansive view of the surroundings. The launch event was attended by a sizable crowd of people as well as prominent figures from the Northern Railways, Civil and Police Administration, Aftab Malik, Chairman of the DDC Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Member of Parliament, and SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu.
