Jammu, Feb 14: On this day in 2019, forty members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost their life in a terror assault in the Pulwama area. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to them on Wednesday. When a suicide bomber with ties to Pakistan crashed his car packed with explosives into the CRPF convoy, the soldiers inside were slain. The Indian Air Force has attacked Pakistani terror sites in Balakot as payback. “Genuine gratitude to the courageous individuals who gave their lives in the Pulwama terror attack in 2019.” Their extraordinary bravery, ultimate sacrifice, and selfless service to the country will always be appreciated by the people, Sinha wrote on X. To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the attack, security forces, notably the CRPF, political and social groups, and numerous other organisations have organised distinct events.
