SRINAGAR, Apr 2: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into the recent encounter incident at Arhama in Ganderbal district.
The inquiry will examine all aspects and circumstances surrounding the incident to ascertain the facts and ensure accountability.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “I have ordered a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into Arhama, Ganderbal incident. The inquiry will examine all aspects related to the incident and ensure that justice is served.”
A local resident, Raashid Ahmad Mughal, was killed in the encounter that took place on April 1 in the Arhama area of Ganderbal.
Officials said the inquiry has been directed to be completed within a stipulated timeframe and the report submitted to the Home Department.
