SRINAGAR: LG Sinha today felicitated the winners of ‘Jashn-e-Dal’, a Water Sports event organized by JKP, at Srinagar.During the three-day event, 700 competitors participated in 20 divisions of kayaking, canoeing, and slalom discipline. The J&K Police has made a significant contribution to developing young sporting talent and giving them the chance to realise their full creative potential through Civic Action Programmes, the Lt Governor said in a speech to the participants and organisers. Every athlete hopes to have the chance to compete in a sporting event, to thrive in their chosen field, and to become an inspiration to younger athletes. “The ongoing sporting events offer us hope and faith that our players can accomplish ground-breaking feats,” the Lt. Governor said. The thriving sports scene is a reflection of J&K’s ambitious vision, which aspires to create a better future for the next generation. He continued, “”Our athletes will play a significant role in this task and contribute to the development of a strong and prosperous Jammu Kashmir,” he concluded.”The Lt. Governor reaffirmed the UT Administration’s commitment to offering top-notch facilities, coaching, and mentoring to the young athletes from Jammu and Kashmir. “We are constructing J&K’s new sporting future. We must all work together to support our athletes and discover the hidden talents in the countryside so they can achieve dazzling success in international sporting competitions. Sports stars from J&K were singled out by the Lt. Governor for praise for representing their country with distinction on the international scene.The sports associations and stakeholder departments’ efforts to promote sports in the UT were also recognised by him. The Lt. Governor further urged the populace, particularly the youth, to carry out their responsibilities and participate in the Swachhta Abhiyan. The Lt. Governor chatted with the players while doing an outstanding pedal pass during the closing ceremony. Senior officers of the Police and Civil Administration, members of the Water Sports Association, notable sports figures, representatives of various sports clubs and associations, and youth in large numbers attended the felicitation ceremony. Lt. Governor’s advisor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Dilbag Singh, ACS, Home Department, RR Swain, Special DG CID, and SJM Gillani, ADGP J&K Armed Police are also present.
