LG Sinha : Appropriate Legal Action Will Be Taken Against Staffers Having Links With Terrorism

JAMMU, Aug 20:  On Sunday, LG Manoj Sinha supported firing government workers who support terrorism and pledged that the administration would not hold off taking the necessary legal measures.
He stated Article 311 of the Constitution was included “to take stern action against those who are a threat to the nation” and deals with the dismissal, removal, or reduction in rank of civil officials in the Union or state governments. The opinions of others are irrelevant. Strict action will be taken against any employees who have ties to terrorism, Sinha said reporters outside of a gathering here.
The L-G was responding to a query regarding PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti’s criticism of the Jammu and Kashmir government for “selectively terminating Kashmiri employees” from their positions by designating them as “terrorist sympathisers.”
Mehbooba Mufti’s response came a day after Sajad Ahmad Bazaz, the chief manager of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, was fired for allegedly posing a “threat to the security of the state.”The former chief minister stated in a post on X that it had become commonplace to terminate Kashmiri personnel after falsely accusing them of supporting terrorism and the ISI. With the government serving as judge and jury, the accused is not given the opportunity to demonstrate his innocence. The purpose of this hooliganism is to terrorise Kashmiris into surrender. The removal of personnel with ties to terrorism is the administration’s primary goal, according to L-G Sinha on Sunday. When there is evidence of their involvement, he said, “Anyone who had ties to terrorism or assisted in its growth and managed a government job in a wrong way will have to face appropriate action as per the law.”According to the L-G, Kashmir’s law-and-order situation has improved. To rid the area of terrorists, security personnel have moved their attention to the bordering twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri, he said.
The Lt. Governor assured the public that his administration would not take any action that would be detrimental to their interests in response to their worries about the installation of smart electricity metres.
He advised those who are financially able to pay their electrical bills to do so right away. According to Sinha, the administration wants to make sure that the needy receive aid.
