LG reviews Traffic Management and Comprehensive Mobility Plan for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

SRINAGAR: LG Manoj Sinha chaired a high level meeting with the senior officials of Police and Civil Administrations to review traffic management and comprehensive mobility plan during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.In order to ensure efficient traffic, parking, and pedestrian operations, the Lt Governor ordered zone-wise traffic planning on National Highway-44 in close cooperation with the relevant departments, District Administrations, SSPs, and Traffic Police.Convoys, cattle, cars carrying necessities, and horticultural produce should all be given time slots to move. The Lt. Governor instructed the officials that strict adherence to traffic advisories, schedules, and cutoff times must be guaranteed. To respond to real-time events and to lessen the effects of a breakdown, the traffic police, NHAI, BRO, and other agencies should also deploy more personnel and equipment, he added. The Lt. Governor gave the Traffic Police officers the order to use Integrated Command and Control Centres for efficient control of traffic, transit, and travel demand. He instructed the ADGPs and Divisional Commissioners to oversee traffic control generally in their respective divisions. Public utilities along the Mughal Road, its use, and traffic control in Pahalgam and Sonamarg were also discussed at the meeting. IGP Bhim Sen Tuti provided a thorough explanation of the Yatra’s action plan. Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, RK Goyal, ACS Home, Dilbag Singh, DGP, Shailendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B), ADGPs, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and senior bureaucrats were present at the meeting.
