JAMMU: Today’s review meeting on the overall state of the power supply in the Jammu and Kashmir valley was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Senior officials including Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, H. Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, and Santosh D. Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, attended the meeting. In-depth talks were held on a number of topics to address the high demand for electricity in Jammu Division and Kashmir.In order to prevent any inconvenience to the public, the Lieutenant Governor requested during the meeting that the Principal Secretary of the Power Development Department, H. Rajesh Prasad, strictly adhere to curtailment plans, provide continuous, high-quality power in 100% smart metered feeders, and promptly replace any damaged transformers. In order to meet the peak demand for electricity, he said, the team on the ground needed to keep a close eye on the situation and act quickly. The Lieutenant Governor also assessed the state of labour, power infrastructure, and smart metre installation.
