LG interacts with PRIs, residents of border villages & various other public delegations at Kupwara

KUPWARA: On the second day of his trip to KupwaraLieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke with number of public delegations. The Lt. Governor was briefed by delegations made up of PRI members, Border village residents, traders, Pahadi, Gujjar Bakerwal, and members of minority communities, farmers, transporters, media professionals, and the Bar Association on variety of development-related issues and other matters of public importance. The Lt Governor gave the delegations his word that their legitimate complaints will be addressed in timely manner. The Lt. Governor noted in his interaction with the media that people-centered policies have given the district’s overall growth new lease on life and that the average citizen is now able to live in peace. He added that careful planning has increased the number of tourists visiting the area significantly. “The remote communities now have electricity, and Jal Jeevan Mission projects are moving along faster. By the end of this year, on December 31, we expect to have covered every village, panchayat, and household in the district under “Nal Se Jal.” The Lt Governor declared that 70 percent of the work had already been finished. The Lt Governor stated that the railway ministry had authorised survey of the rail line for the Kupwara district in response to question regarding the rail connectivity to Kupwara. hope work on the rail link will begin after the survey is finished and the DPR is submitted, connecting Kupwara to the train network.
