SRINAGAR : LG Sinha flagged off the first batch of Haj pilgrims of the UT of J&K from Srinagar International Airport, today.In his interactions with the pilgrims, the Lt. Governor gave them his greetings and well wishes. The Lt Governor prayed for the well-being of the blessed pilgrims who were beginning their holy journey to complete the Haj. Additionally, he prayed for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir to live in peace and prosperity. Between June 7 and June 22, 40 planes will depart from Srinagar International Airport.This year, 452 pilgrims from Ladakh UT and 12,079 from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will make the Haj trip. The Ministry of External Affairs, GoI, will meet the Haj pilgrims at the Indian Consulate General in Jeddah. Senior officers from the Airport Authority, Civil and Police administration, as well as Safina Baig, Chairperson of the J&K Haj Committee, There were also additional members of the J&K Haj Committee, including Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, and Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Budgam.
