SRINAGAR: The third Governing Body Meeting of Mission Youth was presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha earlier today at Raj Bhawan. Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO of Mission Youth, provided the Chair with a briefing on the department’s considerable self-employment activities for the Financial Year 2023–2024 in order to encourage entrepreneurship and help young people pursue their aspirations. The discussion included topics such as successes, an action plan for the fiscal years 2023–2024, targets, and a roadmap for various youth entrepreneurship programmes.The Lt. Governor noted that all conditions for Young Entrepreneurs should be met so they can benefit society and improve personally. The Lt. Governor stated that all of our institutions, departments, financial support system, and technical mechanism should concentrate on meeting their demands and providing assistance to individuals who were involved in managing businesses. The establishment and operation of District Youth Centres in each of Jammu and Kashmir’s 20 districts, career counselling, market-driven skill development programmes, recreational opportunities, social engagement, and sporting events, including the LG Rolling Trophy, Young Lawyer initiatives, Exposure tours (Know India, Love India), and awareness campaigns, as well as a programme to promote youth innovation and inclusive youth engagement and outreach, were all topics covered at the meeting.The Lt. Governor instructed Mission Youth and the Department of Industries and Commerce to collaborate in order to support new businesses and foster the development of the entrepreneurial spirit among young people. “By working together and providing all the necessary assistance and direction, departments, banks, financial institutions, and higher educational institutions can work towards the same goal. The Lt. Governor continued, “Fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of our youth is our primary goal. The creation of state-of-the-art libraries was approved at the meeting presided over by the Lt Governor. Additionally, it was agreed to execute the AVSAR Programme throughout the Union Territory’s districts.The Endeavour to Empower programme of Mission Youth’s conference covered “The Model Finishing School” to improve employability of qualified adolescents. All parties involved have to fully contribute to its successful execution, the Lt. Governor instructed. The meeting was attended in person and virtually by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, R.K. Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, other members of the Governing Body, Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and senior officials.
