SHOPIAN : Today at Shopian, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the District Review Meeting and reviewed the district’s ongoing development projects as well as the implementation of numerous UT and Central Government Schemes. Our goal is to use the potential of each district to boost J&K’s economy. To ensure that every home receives the benefits of the development, every official at all levels of administration must fulfil his duties with greater dedication and sensitivity, the Lt. Governor added. He instructed the officials to conduct routine surveys to find new applicants for the programmes sponsored by the federal government and the local governments as well as youngsters with any form of birth abnormality.
The Lt. Governor gave instructions to connect every farmer in the district with agricultural-related initiatives and programmes and to increase their registration on the Daksh portal after reviewing the progress made in the agriculture and allied sectors. The District Administration and other officials were persuaded by the Lt. Governor to encourage the establishment of cold storage and other industrial units at the local level. For the District’s employment and export plans to be implemented successfully, a solid strategy must be developed. He advised using Block Diwas as a springboard to increase young self-employment and options for generating income. The district’s tourism potential should be exploited in all possible ways, and Amrit Sarovars should be promoted as tourist attractions, according to him.The Lt Governor also requested a thorough report on the financial aid provided to women, ST, and SC under Stand Up India, and he ordered that district administration and banking institutions hold frequent meetings. The Lt. Governor instructed the officials to take comprehensive steps to provide road connectivity to every village in the district with an emphasis on increasing connectivity in rural regions. He ordered the police and district administration to launch targeted programmes to protect children from the dangers of drug abuse and urged everyone in society to work together in the fight against narcotics. Deputy Commissioner Shopian Faz Lul Haseeb provided a summary of the district’s development situation.The Lt. Governor later spoke with representatives from the PRI and ULB, the District Bar Association, the Tribal Community, the Fruit Growers & Cold Chain Association, and Political Leaders to learn more about their pressing concerns.
