JAMMU: At Air Force Station, Satwari, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the air display and the air awareness campaign. The celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Air Force Station, Jammu and the 76th anniversary of J&K’s entry into the Indian Union was staged jointly by the Indian Air Force and the J&K Government. “The Indian Air Force is a shining example of determination, fortitude, and strength. I honour the members of the Indian Air Force for their outstanding bravery and selfless attitude. The Air Warriors and their families have my sincere appreciation, the Lt Governor remarked. People from all walks of life gathered to watch the IAF’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), Air Warrior Drill team, Aakashganga Daredevil Skydiving team, and Mi-17 1V Helicopters put on a breathtaking aerial performance.The Air Warriors displayed flawless flying and formation skills as the aircraft manoeuvred in the air. Through the first-of-its-kind Air Show in Jammu, the general public was also made aware of the risks to aviation and how they may contribute to aviation safety. To commemorate the occasion, the Lt Governor later presented awards to the defence personnel as well as the participants in the aerobatic and skydiving teams. The event was attended by senior IAF, Army, Civil and Police Administration, and Army officers as well as Air Vice Marshal PK Vohra, AOC J&K, Ladakh; Air Commodore SS Rawat, AOC, Air Force Station, Jammu; Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lt Governor; Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; BR Sharma, State Election Commissioner J&K.Bharat Bhushan, the DDC Chairman for Jammu, as well as many ULB and PRI representatives, well-known locals, and other attendees were present.
