RAMBAN: According to reports, an enormous landslip that occurred on Thursday in Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar route claimed the life of an Uttar Pradesh labourer. The landslip has caused additional delays in the opening of the highway, which has been closed to new traffic for the previous three days. According to official authorities, a new landslip happened close to Seeri, Ramban. One labourer who was supposedly employed by a private construction company was buried beneath the landslip and perished while being taken to the hospital. They recognised him as an Uttar Pradesh resident named Desh Pal.Following the most recent landslip, they reported, the Highway—the only surface route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the outside valley—remained blocked. People are advised to avoid travelling on NH-44 until the road is clean. “Restoration work is in progress at Kishtwari Pather on Jammu-Srinagar NHW, it will take some time,” traffic police stated.
