KULGAM: In the Kulgam area of South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed on Wednesday to have attached a property worth lacs belonging to a known drug dealer. According to a police spokesperson, in an unrelenting effort to stop the drug trade, Kulgam Police has continued to take proactive measures against offenders. Today, under section 68-F(2) of the NDPS Act 1985, Kulgam Police attached property (a double-story residential house and cowshed) measuring 1291.48 square feet, valued at Rs 2562425, and 1139.5 square feet, valued at Rs 678803, respectively, belonging to a notorious drug peddler named Bashir Ahmad Khanday Son of Mohd Sultan Khanday R/O Nippora. The property was found to have been obtained unlawfully during the Kulgam police’s investigation and inquiry. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. The aforementioned drug dealer is pertinently connected to Police Station Qazigund Case FIR number 148/2022.
