KUPWARA: According to an official statement released by the police on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir police had used the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) to seize the property of a notorious drug dealer in Handwara, in the Kupwara district. The Handwara police said that over the course of their investigation and inquiry, they discovered that the land had been obtained illegally. The authorities claimed that the owner of the building, a small shopping complex with four stores, was Farooq Ahmad Dar, a well-known narcotics dealer. Primarily, the owner obtained the property from the illegal trafficking of psychotropic and narcotic drugs.The police claimed that the aforementioned drug dealer is connected to several cases at the Handwara police station. “This operation confirms Handwara Police’s dedication to fighting the drug problem. The Handwara Police’s decision to seize properties owned by drug dealers in the Police District Handwara that have been raised or used for illegal drug trafficking was applauded by the local populace, according to an official statement from the police.
