SRINAGAR: J&K Police arrested a middle-aged man for the rape of a minor girl in Srinagar. Mohd Iqbal Sheikh (46 years old), the son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, a resident of Kanthpora, Sogam Kupwara, who is currently residing in Pamposh Colony, Srinagar, was arrested for raping a minor 15-year-old girl, according to a tweet from Srinagar Police. “The accused is a child’s relative. The statement read, “FIR no 92/2023 U/S 352,376,506 IPC & 3/4 POCSO act in PS Safakadal. Zaid Feroz, 22, of Old Barzulla, Srinagar, was detained by the police on Wednesday for raping a 12-year-old boy (name withheld). The offender was a close relative of the victimised girl, and Sadar PS registered FIR no. 56/2023 in accordance with sections 5, 6, and 7 of the POCSO Act.
