JAMMU: Continuing intensive campaign in RS Pura Jammu South constituency, JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla said on Sunday addressed serious of election gatherings at Purana Pind, RS Pura, Kotli Shah Dulla, Railway Line Patri, Chib Mohalla, Kunjwani, Chowdhi area.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said politics of disorientation and false propaganda have become the hallmark of the functioning of the Modi government. The last ten years of BJP government stands at a stage where people of J&K were forced to suffer the countless wounds and ruthless insensitivity inflicted by the government,” he charged.
He lashed out at the Central Govt for the unprecedented price hike and record unemployment besides failing to address the grievances of people of J&K on every count after promising massive development post August 5, 2019.
Bhalla said that development process started by UPA Govt in J&K, received a major setback, as the NDA Govt failed to carry forward the massive developments started by UPA. He said that people are feeling harassed by ‘tax-terror’ and unprecedented price hike by the Modi Govt. At the same time, they realize that BJP Govt is looting them to recover the losses it has caused to the Country’ economy by misrule and mismanagement of things since the day one, as a result, there is a restlessness across the country.
Every section of the society including farmers, youth, students, employees are up in arms due to wrong policies of BJP. He pointed to the landmark land reforms introduced by Congress, which were instrumental in empowering the weaker sections of society. “Our party has a rich legacy of serving the poor with sincerity and dedication, and we pledge to continue this mission by ensuring social justice and economic equality,” he affirmed.
Bhalla said that people of J&K feel betrayed by the downgrading of the historic state and deprived of the rights to land and jobs. He said that Congress party would intensify struggle for the restoration of statehood with protection to jobs and lands for the locals of J&K.
He said that lust for power could lead the BJP to compromise with the Jammu pride and dignity. He accused the BJP of undermining the understanding and political sagacity of the people of Jammu.
He dared the BJP to spell out just 10 initiatives for Jammu’s growth during the party’s tenure in the government. Bhalla highlighted that the BJP’s declining popularity was evident during the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the INDIA Alliance, of which Congress and NC are key constituents, gave a major setback to party.
He predicted that the same outcome would be witnessed in the forthcoming Assembly elections, with the INDIA Alliance emerging victorious.
Hitting hard the BJP and its state leadership for cheating the people of Jammu, Bhalla said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal. The honour of people of Jammu has been compromised and downgraded by the leaders who claimed to be the champion of their cause in the region. BJP climbed political ladder raising voice against discrimination with people of this region. They ended up doing same disparity with the people who voted them to power to rule the country,” said Bhalla.
Bhalla highlighted Congress’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic empowerment of the marginalized. He said “The downtrodden and the poor represent a significant section of our population that has been consistently deprived of basic necessities such as livelihood, education, property, and employment opportunities.”
He emphasized that Congress has always been at the forefront of taking bold initiatives to elevate the status of these communities, providing them with equal opportunities for growth and development.
Coming down heavily on BJP leadership for indulging into misinformation campaign against Congress, Bhalla said that it is all due to the concerted efforts of great leaders like Prime Ministers Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh that India is on the path of prosperity. “BJP is just inaugurating the mega projects which were built and completed by Congress party,” pointed out Bhalla.
He expressed great disappointment over the government’s failure to provide adequate opportunities for these marginalized groups in terms of employment, education, and social security. He said that the BJP Govt has miserably failed to uplift the weaker sections in its ten years of rule in the country.
Firing a salvo on the BJP leadership, Bhalla said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice, kept mum and the public voice remained unheard inside and outside Assembly. It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in Assembly elections.
Bhalla claimed that only Congress has the capability and commitment to address the current issues and bring meaningful change to the region, restoring stability and improving the living conditions of the people.
He asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support the Party in the ensuing Assembly polls and assured that the Congress will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir with a commitment to restore stability and improve living conditions of people of J&K.
Bhalla strongly criticized the failure of the Govt to the genuine issues of different categories of temporary, contractual, casual, daily rated and need based categories of employees and workers and failure to frame regularization policies of them and pay them regularly.
Bhalla also took stock of the various other issues confronted by the people and different sections of people including employees, unemployed youth, farmers, laboures and blamed the BJP Govt and UT Administration for ignoring the genuine issues and concerns of different sections.
He urged the people to support and vote for Congress candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections, with an aim to bring positive change and ensure that the party’s pro-people policies are implemented.
Bhalla said despite the installation of smart meters, the government has miserably failed to ensure a regular power supply. To make matters worse, people are being burdened with inflated electricity bills,” he said.
