Jammu, Jul 17 : Ravinder Raina on Monday served a defamation notice on former MLC Surinder Choudhary for his remarks against him while quitting the party recently. Choudhary attempted to harm Raina’s reputation among the public and within the party ranks, and Raina demanded an unqualified apology from him within a week or face a defamation lawsuit for Rs 5 crore.
On March 30 of last year, Choudhary left the PDP and within a week joined the BJP. On July 7 of this year, he did, however, defect from the BJP and join the National Conference.BJP president Ravinder Raina on Monday served a defamation notice on former MLC Surinder Choudhary for his remarks against him while quitting the party recently.On his Twitter account, Choudhary announced his resignation from the BJP and made accusations against Raina.
“I have served a legal notice on Choudhary through my lawyer…for levelling baseless allegations against me with the sole intention of tarnishing my reputation among the party faithful and the general public,” Raina declared. He must offer an apology within a week, otherwise get ready for court.””You may choose any political party that suits your ambition,” read the legal notice sent to Choudhary, “Despite the fact that you are fully aware that my client was not a part of any of the alleged crimes, the terms you chose to use in your tweet on July 11 are completely inappropriate and highly disrespectful to my clients and the BJP.
