Kulgam, Sept 8: Three Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), have sustained injuries in the ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Gudar forest area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.
Officials said that initially a JCO was injured during the exchange of fire. Later, two more Army jawans also sustained injuries in the fierce gunfight. All the injured personnel have been evacuated to hospital for treatment.
Moreover, One terrorist was killed while the operation is still ongoing.
They said the joint operation by Army, Police, and CRPF was launched following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the forest area.
The firefight is still underway as security forces continue to engage the hiding terrorists. Further details are awaited.
