JCCI decides to hold election on June 8: Arun

JAMMU, May 20: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has decided to hold election for the new office bearers on June 8, 2025.Talking to media persons JCCI president, Arun Gupta said that election was deferred due to tension along India-Pak border. The Executive Committee decided not to put the members to risk amid war like situation between the two countries. Now, since the situation along the borders improved and normalcy returned, it was decided to call the meeting of working/executive committee to take decision in this regard. He said only working committee is authorized to take such a decision.
Gupta further disclosed that the meeting of the Executive Committee was held today to decide fresh date for holding biennial election of Chamber of Commerce and Industry which were deferred in view of undeclared war between our country and Pakistan.
The Executive Committee noted that since the under current of rumour of revocation of ceasefire on May 18 have been denied by our DGMO, so there is no obstacles in holding election.
The Executive Committee unanimously fixed June 8 (Sunday) as the date for holding deferred biennial Chamber election, he added.
Arun Gupta was accompanied by Election Commissioner, Shiv Partap Gupta, secretary general Manish Gupta and other Executive Committee members.
