JAMMU: officials said today that the Landslides triggered by heavy rains have resulted in the blockage of major roads in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Jammu-Srinagar NH, Mughal Road, and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road.An official advised people to postpone travel until the debris is cleared after confirming that these roads have been made unusable. “Heavy rain along with landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in various stretches of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Ramban have closed the highway until clearance,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Mohita Sharma wrote on Twitter. SSP Sharma further urged people to check with the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) for the most recent highway conditions before making any travel plans. Due to landslides, NH-44, Mughal Road, and SSG Road are all shut. People are warned not to travel until clearance, according to a tweet from the J&K Traffic Police.
