JAMMU: In a major strike against narco-terror and drug trafficking, Jammu Police (South Zone) busted a drug peddling network, arresting three accused persons including a husband-wife duo and seizing 280.5 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with electronic weighing machines. This recovery marks a significant step in Jammu Police’s sustained war on drugs.
On 20.09.2025, during a naka checking operation at Railway Pulli, Narwal, one accused identified as Vishal S/o Ajay R/o Ludhiana A/P Rajeev Nagar was apprehended. On his search, 265 grams of heroin and an electronic weighing machine were recovered.
Follow-up investigation led to the arrest of two more accused — a husband-wife duo:
Gogi S/o Neep Ram R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal
Reema W/o Gogi R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu
From their possession, 15 grams of heroin and another electronic weighing machine were seized.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 279/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort.
This recovery comes amid an intensified crackdown by Sub Division East in hotspots like Rajeev Nagar and Qasim Nagar, which has yielded remarkable results in the last 8 months:
31 FIRs registered under the NDPS Act
1.183 kg heroin recovered (worth ₹2–3 crore in the international market)
10 kg of Ganja seized
35 accused persons arrested
220 individuals booked under preventive actions for drug-related activities
These numbers highlight the persistent efforts of Jammu Police to root out the drug menace from vulnerable pockets
The latest action was executed by SHO Bahu Fort and ICPP Narwal, assisted by PSI Irshad Ahmed, under the close supervision of SDPO City East and SP City South Jammu, with overall guidance from SSP Jammu.
Police are probing the source and destination of the contraband, with efforts underway to identify backward and forward linkages. A financial investigation has also been initiated to track and seize the proceeds of drug trafficking.
