JAMMU: Continuing its sustained crackdown on land grabbers and drug peddlers, the District Administration Jammu on Saturday carried out a major demolition drive at village Narwal Bala in Tehsil Bahu.
The operation was conducted on the directions of District Magistrate Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, in close coordination with SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh.
During the drive, the administration demolished eight illegal structures belonging to drug peddlers who are involved in multiple cases under the NDPS Act. Officials said that despite being given sufficient time and repeated warnings, the individuals failed to reform and continued their involvement in the illegal sale and purchase of narcotic substances.
The District Administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachments and drug-related activities, warning that strict legal action will continue against those involved in NDPS offences and other violations.
The anti-encroachment drive was carried out under the overall supervision of SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa, and Superintendent of Police City South Jammu, Ajay Sharma. The operation was conducted in the presence of Tehsildar Bahu Raju Samyal, SDPO Jammu East Sachit Sharma, SHO Bahu Fort Susheel Choudhary, along with teams from the Revenue and Police departments.
