RAJOURI: In line with its coordinated outreach initiatives, the Indian Army organized a series of Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Drone Melas at multiple locations, including Jhangar, Lam and Kalsiyan in Tehsil Nowshera.

The events witnessed active participation from ex-servicemen, Village Defence Guards (VDGs/VDCs), and Agniveer aspirants. The primary objective was to raise awareness about the growing role of drone technology in modern warfare and national security.

Participants were briefed on various types, capabilities, and uses of drones employed by Indian forces as well as adversaries. Sessions also covered counter-Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) measures and standard reporting protocols.

The programmes featured informative lectures, drone displays, and live demonstrations, providing attendees with practical insights into drone identification, capabilities, and operational aspects. Interactive Q&A sessions were also held to address queries and help participants distinguish between friendly and hostile drones.

Special emphasis was laid on the critical role of ex-servicemen and local volunteers as vigilant stakeholders in strengthening border security. Participants were encouraged to promptly report any suspicious aerial activity through established communication channels.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response, significantly enhancing awareness about emerging technological threats while fostering community engagement and preparedness in border areas.
