NEW DELHI, Oct 27: On Friday, October 27, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a new offensive against the Congress, calling 2014 a “badlav” (change), a year when people abandoned antiquated phones with frozen screens in favour of a government that had completely changed the country. Speaking at the India Mobile Congress, Modi cited data to demonstrate how the nation went from being an importer of mobile phones to an exporter and how major tech companies, such as Apple and Google, are vying to establish manufacturing operations in India. “2014 isn’t just a year; it’s ‘badlav,’ or change,” declared the prime minister.Mr. Modi made jabs at the Congress-led UPA, comparing it to old phones with frozen screens that won’t turn on no matter how many swipes or buttons are tapped, and comparing the previous government to a similar frozen state. “Phones made in India” PM Modi stated, “A restart, charging the battery, or even changing the battery did not work.” “People left such antiquated phones in 2014, giving us a chance to serve the nation.”According to Mr Modi, India is moving forward to become a leader in the field of 6G after launching the fastest 5G mobile phone network. The Prime Minister said that “made in India” phones are in use worldwide. According to him, India’s mobile broadband speed has improved from 118th to 43rd place. In just a year after 5G was rolled out, four lakh 5G base stations have been installed. According to the prime minister, the government’s top objective is granting residents access to resources, finance, and technology.
