NEW DELHI, Dec 3: On December 6, leaders of the opposition INDIA group will gather at the home of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi to devise a plan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, according to reports on Sunday. The leaders are expected to discuss and solidify their strategy to challenge the BJP before the elections during the evening meeting, they said. Before deciding on future strategy plans, the Congress was expecting the outcomes of assembly elections in five states: Telangana, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.Voter tallying for the elections in Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh commenced at 8 a.m. on Sunday. On Monday, the votes from the Mizoram assembly elections will be tallied. In order to challenge the BJP in the general elections, at least 26 parties have united as the INDIA bloc, and they have already held three rounds of discussions in Patna, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. The opposition leaders, according to the sources, will now organise joint protests that were postponed because of the assembly elections. They added that discussions about seat-sharing amongst regional groupings will now pick up steam.
