JAMMU: In response to an appeal filed by the Enforcement Directorate against the trial court’s ruling granting temporary release, the High Court on Monday sent notice to former Minister and leader of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party (DSSP), Ch Lal Singh. DSGI Vishal Sharma stated during the hearing that this court, along with the court of Special Judge Anticorruption, CBI Cases, Jammu, have been designated as Special Courts under PMLA and, as such, have jurisdiction to consider cases arising thereto, since the matter involves consideration of bail application only pending investigation by the Enforcement Directorate. “However, the instant case is not related to taking of cognizance of the offences under PMLA, because complaint is yet to be filed” , he added. Following the hearing of DSGI Vishal Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal sent a notice to Lal Singh, the leader of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party (DSSP) and a former minister, directing that any decision made by the trial court be contingent upon the resolution of the petition.
