NEW DELHI: For the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, star all-arounder Hardik Pandya is expected to part ways with his present team, the Gujarat Titans (GT), and rejoin his old team, the Mumbai Indians, according to ESPNcricinfo. This all-cash deal includes the Mumbai-based team paying Titans an undisclosed transfer fee in addition to the 30-year-old’s salary of 15 crore rupees. Hardik could receive as much as 50% of the transfer fee, per an ESPNcricinfo report. The transaction will be regarded as the largest player trade in IPL history if it is executed successfully. Neither franchise has officially announced it as of yet. The Gujarat-based team’s all-around player won the 2022 IPL season, and he was also named ‘Player of the Match’ in the match that decided the winner against the Rajasthan Royals. GT secured their spot in the IPL final for the second time in their first two seasons during the previous IPL season. They were runners-up in 2023, though, after losing to the Chennai Super Kings. After Ravichandran Ashwin moved from Punjab Kings to Delhi Capitals, the 30-year-old will be the third captain to be traded if the deal is completed.
