KATRA:The “Gyanodaya Express – College on Wheels” train was launched on Sunday by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha from Katra Railway Station in the Reasi district. For educational purposes, the Gyanodaya Express, carrying seven hundred female students from Union Territory universities, will pass through several states. “For the students, it will be a pilgrimage of education. Through immersive, cooperative, and project-based learning opportunities, the journey aims to blur the lines between classrooms and educational streams and advance the field of education, according to the Lieutenant Governor. As per Sinha, the idea behind the trip was influenced by the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who conducted a train-based “epic tour” across the nation, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and bringing awareness to the values of “truth and non-violence.”The LG stated that in addition to providing students with an opportunity to experience various places and cultures, the trip will help them better understand who they are. “Train journeys will support interdisciplinary education and offer chances for hands-on learning. Travelling by train is regarded as an expedition to change the current state of knowledge. “The journey of students along with mentors to centres of excellence such as Indian Navy, ISRO and Sabarmati Ashram will provide them with new ideas, insight and hands-on knowledge for new research,” he stated.
