SRINAGAR: According to officials on Monday, Gulmarg in north Kashmir saw the coldest night of the season, with minus eight degrees Celsius, while Srinagar city saw a warmer night because of the overcast skies. One of the base camps for the yearly Amarnath Yatra, Pahalgam in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 5.8 degrees Celsius, a drop of more than four notches, according to reports. On Sunday night, Srinagar’s lowest temperature was 0.5 degrees Celsius. Kokernag recorded 1.1 degrees Celsius, Kupwara minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, and Qazigund 0.8 degrees Celsius. For the next few days, the weatherman has predicted that the valley will mostly experience dry conditions.
