New Delhi, Aug 1: Gross GST collection rose 11 per cent to over Rs 1.65 lakh crore in July, crossing the Rs 1.6 lakh crore mark for the fifth time since the rollout of the indirect tax regime.The total gross revenue from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collected last month was Rs 1,65,105 crore, of which the CGST, SGST, IGST, and cess totaled Rs 29,773 crore, Rs 37,623 crore, Rs 85,930 crore, Rs 11,779 crore, and Rs 840 crore, respectively (including Rs 41,239 crore from the collection of the IGST on imports).
According to a statement from the finance ministry, the month’s revenues were 11% more than the GST collections from the same month previous year.In comparison to the same month last year, revenue from domestic transactions, including the import of services, increased by 15% throughout the month.
Gross GST revenue has now exceeded Rs 1.60 lakh crore for a seventh time, the government stated.
The GST collected in June was Rs 1,61,497 billion.
