Greater Kailash murder case: Avtar Singh cremated

JAMMU: Amid proper security arrangements, Avtar Singh, the 39-year-old man who was killed in a land dispute at Greater Kailash locality on April 30, was cremated at Jogi Gate on Tuesday. Police have so far arrested seven people in this case, including notorious land grabber Ravinder Gupta alias Gola Shah and ex-SSP Sheikh Mehmood. Two vehicles used in the commission of crime were also seized by a team of police from the house of the arrested suspects yesterday besides analysing the CCTV footage of the crime scene and collecting other digital evidences. Pertinently, a scuffle broke out between two parties over a land dispute at Greater Kailash locality on April 30, in which one Avtar Singh son of Balbir Singh sustained serious injuries after he was attacked with an iron road on his head. He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu where he breathed his last the same day. The deceased was cremated today after his family members living abroad also reached Jammu to pay him their final respect.
